The "ALB Anti Lightning Ball" is a PDCE lightning protection ball equipped with a function that does not invite lightning strikes. It is patented in Japan and the United States (Japan: Patent No. 6128539, USA: US 10,992,111 B2). Aiming for improved performance compared to the conventional method of opposing upper and lower electrodes, the internal electrode, which is grounded, is covered by the outer electrode to reduce the exposure of the internal electrode. This design minimizes the exposure of the internal electrode at any angle. In discharge tests conducted at Pau University, it demonstrated the ability not to discharge even when the maximum voltage was applied. Since this is an indoor test, it is unclear how much difference there is in the protective area outdoors, but it is certain that it outperforms conventional PDCEs in discharge performance.
